Islamers, why the hate on pigs?

before pig meat was outlawed, there was no refridgeration, and pig meat would spoil very quickly, since a lot of people were getting sick from it, it was outlawed. even though we have refridgeration and better storage and preserving methods today, we are still not permitted to eat it because it has been written and cant be changed.
