Should we eliminate the Food and Drug Administration?

I have this trail of thought. People say they want to eliminate Government Regulators because it is bad for business and it ends competition in the market. I have this question: Should we eliminate the Food and Drug Administration?? It is part of many government regulations, which protects people from diseases,check if food is properly made, and check medicine to see if it is good or harmful to humans. If you think we should eliminate the Food and Drug Administration, Why do you want to do that? It is simply checking businesses to see if they are producing the right/good/safe/ foods/drugs. You want businesses making decisions on food and drugs? I don't think that works because we had a salmonella outbreak on peanuts and spinach before, which is caused by poor business management.
