What should i do about condoms?

So i have a latex allergy and i can die from it, if i am even in a room with anything latex i react. There are latex free condoms but in sexual planning class they said the latex free condoms don't protect you from STI's, pregnancy, and aids. Is this true and if it is what do i do about it?
