Is it normal that every time someone tries to argue that there's nothing wrong with torture I'm tempted to?

American lives were saved by torturing an Al Qaida terrorist. Which would be worse? Another 9/11 or another KSM torturing. I will go as far as agreeing that "enhanced interrogation" such as waterboarding someone 186 times is indeed torture.
