Microbiological assay of antibiotic?

i would like to test the potency of apramycin antibiotic used in veterinary product. according to BP, the apramycin assay must be carried out using turbidimetric assay with salmonella enterica as the test organism. how to prepare the salmonella suspension? because i found no details on the methods using this bacteria.
