Can salmonella food poisoning give side affects in the future?

Under 7 years ago I had salmonella food poisoning from chicken (I think it was chicken), I was taken to the hospital straight away and they treated me and everything - was in hospital for about 2 weeks I think. Well, can it give you side affects or anything in the future?
